Alaxander Pelikan
I found this collection by Dutch designer Alexander Pelikan on NOTCOT.org. The table and chairs are made by combining wood and plastic. The joints are plastic and have a really organic form which juxtaposes the straightness of the wooden sections. Unfortunatly, the website doesn't say how the designer actually connected the wood with the plastic so it's a bit of a mystery. I assume that he drilled or cut the pattern into the wooden parts first, then set them into a mold and poured the resin in and then cleaned it all up. The pattern is meant to look organic and kinda looks like a spotted cow to me (in a good way).
