Gustav Stickley

Gustav Stickley was a beginning of the 20th century furniture maker and architect. Around 1904 he began making mission oak style furniture in New York State. Originally from New York I encountered some of his work in my day to travels. I like his simplicity of design and his architectural philosophy which was highly influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Beautiful piece. Nice mini bio. I once worked in an antique shop in Santa Monica, and I sold some Stickley pieces to the actress Holly Hunter. I helped her carry them to her apartment and she tipped me $25- not bad, but definitly not 15 percent. -Squerl
P.S. Who is muslim12188 and what does any of that have to do with Stickley? Was he Muslim?
